A Summertime Paradise, With Year-Round Thrills:

The Siren Call of Ocean City, Maryland is a resort destination on the Mid-Atlantic coast. The town itself only has around 7,000–at least according to the 2010 census. But in the Summer, that number climbs to the hundreds of thousands. Each year this beautiful resort destination sees travelers from all walks of life. Approximately 8 million people travel to Ocean City every year–and there’s a reason for that.

South Ocean City Boardwalk:

Ever heard of “Atlantic Avenue”? Well, if it had to do with an iconic centennial boardwalk, then it’s referring to a place in Ocean City. Originally constructed over 110 years ago, in 1902, this 2.5 mile walk of shops and surf is full of excitement, entertainment, and dining. All this leads to a well-regarded amusement park called Trimper’s Rides. The amusement park predates the boardwalk by nine years, originally called “The Windsor Resort”. It boasts a carousel that is among the oldest in the world to remain operational.

The High Rises In North Ocean City

During the 1970s, a sort of travel boom led to a ubiquity of condominiums north of Ocean city. They’ve got some of the best views of the Atlantic Ocean on the whole east coast, and are popular for an extended stay or even eventual residence.

Outstanding Wildlife:

In recent years, deer and red foxes have become increasingly prevalent in and around Ocean City. Many theorize nearby developments have something to do with their change of place. Additionally, there have been some surprising shark sightings off the coasts recently, though still not in any exceptional numbers.
