How About Data Backup?

By Kaspersky, we mean a cloud backup not the Dropbox that you might be thinking about. Although, Dropbox is useful, its syncs your files across multiple devices, and comes handy as well. But you need something more powerful when it comes to protect against ransomware attack. You need an effective cloud backup that backs up as well as encrypts your files far away, in a server. The benefit: even if a hacker attacks your system, you still have access to your uninfected files in cloud backup on multiple devices. Kaspersky protects against WannaCry and ensures complete privacy of your device.

Keep an iPhone, If You Can:

A ransomware attack is not limited to desktop computers alone- your android smartphones are at risk too. In this case, an iPhone is the safest choice- stay away from spammy links and messages. If you are still an android lover, avoid clicking on any unofficial download.

Be Cautious of Malicious Emails or Attachments:

Another effective way of protecting your device is to not opening spam emails or links. Ransomware finds its way through emails and attachments carrying spammy pdf files.

Usually, people keep Windows updates disabled, since earlier version of Microsoft could auto-install, but with new version of Windows 10, this issue is resolved. If you have turned off the automatic updates, turn them on and it’s better to leave them that way.
